Decided to brave the heat and check out The Proposal on Friday night. Love a theater that oversells and packs people in like sardines without the air working to well. The theater smells like feet, I’ve come to the conclusion that people around here don’t really bathe so even after only being a few years old the new theater smells like feet. Of course that’s better than the other theater which smells like cherry scented ass. Or the other theater that seriously looks like Samare from the Ring will crawl out of it at any moment.
ANYWAY! So here we are packed in like gelatinous fish and the movie starts. Me I went in expecting a semi funny movie with attractive people and what I got was near piss yourself funny with hot people…lol The movie is hilarious, Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock work very well together and seem to feed off of each other. People are making comments about the chemistry. Personally I thought they had a little too much chemistry, at the end I seriously thought they were going to hump in front of us. Now I’m one of nine billion people in the world that really doesn’t find Betty White all that funny, frankly I find her rather annoying but she didn’t make me want to punch her too much this time. I did cringe at the Native American stuff and the line Sandra’s character makes in the beginning and wonder if the writers knew how offensive they came across, but as much as things like that normally do affect my point of view of a movie it didn’t this time.
Of course after all that and Oscar should be giving to the towel! Yes women the towel in the trailer that is there when Ryan and Sandra collide naked, he’s MIA in the movie so instead we get nice well tone naked ass. Worth $8 for sure!
The third installment was horrible. In my much ignored opinion nothing can top the second. Total gorefest but an actual plot? A what? I know! The tie-in to the first was genius. Knowing that the guys that brought us the barbwire fence and that OMG AWESOME opening are back gets me so excited for this one. Not to mention it’s in 3D! In the trailer a kid seemingly gets anhililated by an escalator. Seriously? WTF? Refrains from making a Mallrats joke here! Then the carwash scene! HOW DOES SOMEONE DIE IN A CARWASH? They seem to have figured out a way and my ass will be there opening night with extra $2.50 in hand for them damned RealD glasses. Bitchasses should let me bring one of my pairs from My Bloody Valentine!
Finally watched it! Not the best movie at all but at least it was better than Blair Witch Project! It had its good points but it was wholeheartedly predictable and well in one word dumb. Stupid people do stupid shit which gets them into trouble! Horror movies are based on the mentality that everyone in them are dumb, the same being said for the audience. Unfortunately it comes down to the older I get the less “dumb” I feel watching these movies and feel the need to more roll my eyes. At the end of the day at least rob Hoffman is hot!
New Moon Trailer: Just saw it on Myspace Trailer Park, wasn’t going to waste my time watching the MTV Movie Awards. So far it looks MILES better than Twilight. With Twilight it’s flaws were evident from the first teaser. Watching this in HD the makeup is already smoother and I’m really impressed with the wolf look so far. That was my biggest pet peeve with Twilight, the makeup and the SFX. I can forgive the crappy acting given the source material but to not even notice that the makeup on your actors face isn’t properly blended is pretty sad. Catherine Hardwicke was so clouded by something that she neglected some serious flaws in the movie. People say the budget was it’s biggest limit but The Covenant shows quality SFX aren’t expensive, you just have to use your money wisely! Of course it does come down to the fact that Twilight was based on a vampire that fucking sparkles! That out of the way the New Moon trailer looks good! People are already complaining about the wolf but I think it looks good. Maybe it’s because I watched it in 1080p I dunno…lol
One of the early 90’s many movie adaptations. It was funny and I spent the better part of my teen years quoting George Washington and his “Notta, Zip, Zilch and a whole bunch of diddly squat!” MGM was nice enough to upload 5 full episodes to their YouTube page. Be nice if I could buy them somewhere! Thankfully the very limited Bill and Ted boxed set has an episode or two in it! Now if other studios would be gracious enough to share their cartoons. Now when I say I like crap I mean it! Children of the Corn 1 and 2 were seriously good creepy movies! I mean COTC 2 had Graham Greene which is awesome in itself! What does 5 have? Greg Vaughn and a chubby faced Eva Mendes! Not creepy or scary just stupid. Basically it yet again comes down to the reality that stupid people shouldn’t live and maybe just maybe road trips through BFE are probably not the best idea! Odds are if you run into anyone anywhere that looks like Fred Williamson or David Carradine it’s best to move along! Or I don’t know maybe FLY next time! The odd encounter of snakes or zombies on a plane surely makes up for the almost always encounter of some freaky little kids in the fields!
It seems I’m in the minority on this one. Being the hardcore Terminator buff and James Cameron and Christian Bale fan, I just expected more. It seemed to go nowhere and everywhere all at once. The acting was horrible on everyones part and no it wasn’t the Bat voice. The editing was horrendous, transitions are ones friend! The homages seemed more like mockery to me. I just wish WB had invested more into salvaging The Sarah Connor Chronicles instead of delivering this crap!
